Forget the overly cheery pinks and greens of Lilly Pulitzer: We much prefer the lush, moody treatment of the colors at Villa La Madonna in Piemonte. Co-owned by Swedish sisters Marie and Annica Eklund (who also run design company Bolon), the 16th-century-villa turned hotel is causing us to rethink a formerly preppy palette. Here’s a look.
Above: On the grounds of a working vineyard, the villa was recently renovated in collaboration with Cortina & Käll architects and Swedish design studio Oddbirds. Each of the 16 guest rooms have terraces and balconies with views of the vines.
