The Heavy Lights by Decode London are the culmination of innovative manufacture, visual simplicity and the desire to challenge perception of modern materials. Heavy lights encapsulate the material focused approach of Benjamin Hubert studio and are designed not only to push the potential of an industrial material like concrete but also to challenge perceptions of value. With a relatively lightweight, thin wall section (5mm) and polished exterior it is hoped that the user will value concrete as a luxury commodity in line with green issues and to counteract the current throwaway society. Heavy lamps utilise a material that is taken for granted in the building industry and present a high-end lighting solution elevating its material worth.
