House Call: Ryan Korban in New York

Just launched: New York City–based interior designer Ryan Korban's website, featuring his glamorous, slightly louche urban spaces. Korban mixes elements of English country house style—Chesterfield sofas, bone china tea sets, brass pharmacy lamps, antique rugs on bare wood floors—with edgier urban flourishes (graffiti-like wall stenciling) and seventies chrome furniture. I love Alexander Wang's studio, pictured in the first 2--- but didn't know who did the work, and am grateful you posted this! :)

I remember an interview I watched with A. Wang, and I have to admit my immediate response was "Geez, he really should have hired a designer ..." I guess he did. Not feeling these at all.

Overly slick, boringly mismatched, self-consciously expensive ... I just don't see the appeal.

But you guys tend to have things I love, so maybe I'm just missing it.
