Description from Plain Useful
When Friedrich Redecker began to lose his sight at the age of four, he was enrolled at a school for the blind where he received what was then the standard training for blind people, the art of brush making. In time he set up his own brush making company to support his wife and three sons. That was almost 80 years ago and today the company continues to thrive in Versmold, Germany.
This shiny dustpan and brush set is so lovely you won’t want to hide it away in a cupboard. It’s designed for indoor use as the brush is made with soft horsehair bristles for sweeping up crumbs and fine dust. There is a rubber lip on the pan to ensure the dust ends up in the pan and not underneath it. The pan is super shiny stainless steel with a beechwood handle. Both come with leather hanging loops.
Maintain the handle occasionally by applying some linseed oil. The brush itself can be washed in some mild soapy water and hung up to dry naturally.
