For serious cooks looking for a straightforward, solid, simple and reliable range cooker there is nothing quite like a Falcon, and this 1000 Deluxe model has become something of a classic. Built to appeal to those aspiring to a more professional standard a Falcon range is built using heavier-grade materials than its Rangemaster cousins, and to this end the 1000 Deluxe also does away with the more domestic features like a timer/programmer or windowed doors, giving a more robust and focused user experience. A spacious stainless steel hotplate provides an easy to clean platform for sturdy individual cast iron pan supports and features five professional-grade burners including a more powerful 5kW central burner, all operated via chunky, clear and simple Bakelite-style control knobs. The oven doors open to reveal heavy-duty oven shelves and racks, and catalytic self-clean oven liners on the sides and rear of the main oven, with a removable panel on the oven floor. The capacious fanned oven on the right features wipe-clean enamel. In the grill cavity the heavy-duty steel continues to impress with a very nice quality glide-out grill tray and trivet. Heavy-gauge stainless steel is also used to good effect on the outer corners of the doors and to form the cooker’s side panels, so this is a cooker designed to look great even when installed on the end of a run of kitchen units, or standing alone.
