In deconstructing a perfect sphere, the Lee Broom Crescent Light Mini Pendant reveals a Brushed Brass metal core, and creates two distinct halves of diffused white light. Each half is made from Opal Acrylic which eliminates any glare, resulting in a soft source of light. Although out of alignment, the Crescent Light Mini is still balanced with sophistication, and will instantly command attention in the room it is placed in.
Mastering multiple design disciplines, Lee Broom is heavily inspired by the history of British design, from both a decorative and manufacturing perspective. His work regularly references his homeland’s past, though just as regularly offers a slight subversion of those traditional motifs and techniques in his contemporary recontextualizations. Since 2010, he’s been collecting British Design Awards on a regular basis, including recognition in 2011 as Designer of the Year and a 2012 nod for his Crystal Bulb, a modern reframing of traditional cut crystal craftsmanship.
