Description from Chirp Company
This sculptural birdhouse takes its cues from the early deconstructivist work of Canadian-American architect Frank Gehry, whose bold and unconventional forms challenged traditional architectural conventions. Gehry’s fragmented compositions—marked by an interplay of disparate materials, textures, and dynamic geometries—inform the expressive language of this postmodern avian dwelling.
A continuous, textured roof plane is manipulated in true deconstructive fashion—splitting, folding, and peeling away from itself. The upper section tears open to form an organic, irregular entry aperture, while the lower portion folds back and reengages with the primary volume, blurring the distinction between structure and envelope. The resulting form captures the spirit of movement and controlled chaos, offering a distinctive and unconventional habitat for its feathered occupant.
