Lighting: Verner Panton VP Globe
November 4th, 2008
From Julie & Francesca:
The VP Globe is one of those fixtures you have to see in situ to appreciate (Francesca has it in her Brooklyn Heights study). Designed by Verner Panton in 1977 of transparent acrylic Lucite, it was reissued not long ago; the VP Globe is available at YLighting for $2,195 for the 15.5-inch size and $2,750 for the 19.5-inch size (which is less than vintage versions). We think of it as sculpture in the form of a light fixture.
