Lighting: Shallow Industrial Pendant Light
September 22nd, 2008
From Janet:
We are enamored of the gray vintage industrial pendant lights in Frederic Vasseur’s kitchen, with their saucer-like bowls. Here are a few alternatives for recreating the look:
Below: PW Vintage Lighting has a wonderful selection of vintage industrial lighting, including these 14-inch-wide Enamel Reflector Shades, which are $895 for a set of three. The drop height can be modified, and the patina can be changed on most items.

Below L: The 18-inch Bistro Shade; $172, or the 24-inch Vented Shade; $264. Both made by American Nail Plate Lighting and available at Lighting Universe.

Two additional configurations of the 18-inch Euro Shade. Below L: American Nail Plate’s EU318 for $148. Below R: basic EU518 for $251. Both at Lighting Universe; prices are for shades only (mounting configuration purchased separately).

Below: Labour and Wait in London offers this Gray Enamel Lampshade for £30.

Below: I can’t resist this marriage of the industrial shade with the vapor-tight glass. The 18-inch Euro Shade Pendant with Vapor-Tight Glass by American Nail Plate; $221 at Lighting Universe.
