Iwasaki Design Studio

July 14th, 2008

From Sarah:

A notable presence in the world of Japanese industrial design, Ichiro Iwasaki honed his skills at the Sony Design Center when Japanese consumer electronics were becoming high-style objects of desire. After a period in Milan, he returned to Tokyo and set up his own studio. His designs are quintessentially Japanese in their simplicity and functionality; my favorite is the Contrast line (shown below). Alas, his designs are not yet available in the US, but select pieces can be purchased through the Japanese design store Sfera Products.
