Steal This Look: Hotel du Nord
June 9th, 2008
From Julie:
Spotted on Emma’s DesignBlogg: The Hotel du Nord on Bornholm, a small Danish island southeast of Sweden’s southern coast. Located in an old print factory, with views of the sea, the hotel features nightly communal dinners for 20 and a child-friendly atmosphere (boxes of dress-ups, crayons everywhere, toys galore). I like the pared-down interiors with sea grass matting, Eames side chairs with dowel bases, Ikea shelving, black Luxo Lamps—lots of ideas to copy.

This post was pure serendipity! We are planning a trip to Scandinavia, and were looking for charming places to stay — this hotel is exactly the sort of place we are looking for.
Are there any more special places like this that you are aware of? I have been searching, and I am sure that they are out there, but I just have not been finding them…
