From Julie:
Last week we posted a kitchen on wheels by French architects Karine Chartier and Thomas Corbasson, which got us thinking about portable storage for the most used room in the house. Improbably, Chef’s Catalog has some of the best pieces we’ve seen, made of solid oak and recycled steel. Streamlined proportions, too. And currently on sale.
Below: SoMa Kitchen Pantry Shelf 48 inches wide, 79 inches high; $699 (on sale from $1,500).

Below: SoMa Island with adjustable middle shelf and locking casters; 54 inches long and 41 inches high; $999. SoMa Stool adjusts from 22 to 33 inches high; $299.

Below: SoMa Wheeled Bench, 86 inches long, $999 for a set of two (down from $1,999).
