Cabin Fever

February 11th, 2008

From Julie:

Design Within Reach has been in the news lately for its prefab 9 by 13 foot Kithaus K3; see it at dwr.com. If you’re looking for something more rustic, Limn (San Francisco’s venerable outpost of modernist retailing) offers a made-to-order handmade cabin, built by a Finnish logging family company from the Karelia region of Finland. Window and door hardware is handmade by a Finnish metal worker. A prototype is on display on Limn’s rooftop; go to limn.com for more information.
