Architect Visit: Tsao McKown

December 10th, 2007

From Julie:

One of our favorite (although achingly upscale) design partnerships, Tsao McKown, features this remodeled 1850s upper East Side townhouse on Tsao McKown. You have to hand it to the owners for resisting the socialite look and going for an Eastern-influenced aesthetic.

Over on the West Side, the architects created these luminously serene interiors in the Beresford:

I guess “Eastern-influenced” means white walls, Calder, and coral, and “serene” means throw pillows, creepy busts, and stainless steel tubs fit for butchering meat? I’m just not feeling it. It definitely looks “achingly upscale,” though.
