In decorating her family bath in Margate, Kent, designer Natasha Lyon made use of her savvy for sourcing vintage (from pink pedestal sinks to Shaker stools) while integrating colorful doses of textiles and unexpected accents.

The design started with the statement vintage pink pedestal sink, followed up by encaustic tiles, and accented with Lyon’s own vintage glass collection.

Materials
Lyon has sourced paint throughout her house from UK company Little Greene.
Lyon created the floor pattern with encaustic cement tiles from Otto Tiles: “I designed them into an oversized checkerboard, conscious that a small pattern would be too busy.” The white is from Otto Tiles in Dirty White.
The hand-painted backsplash tiles are by artist Hal Haines, who sells them on Glassette for £150 as a Set of Six Tile Trivets (unfortunately, they’re currently sold out).
The hand-blown glass round sconces that flank the mirror are a vintage find.
The vintage mirror is from one of Lyon’s go-to local sources, Junk Deluxe of Margate. Another option is the Etched and Beveled Venetian Mirror with Dovetailed Corners for $5,975 at High Style Deco.
Lyon found the American Shaker stool at a flea market.
The SCP Agnes Wall Shelf in walnut is 7,020 SEK (about $700 USD) at Artilleriet.
Decor
Lyon stitched the striped café curtain herself. For more see our posts East London Cloth: Purveyors of Household Linens, Made to Last and Trend Alert: Cafe Curtains Get a Glow-Up.
