Giuseppe Arezzi’s Manico dreamed up the design for his Manico chair 10 years ago for a competition for Sicilian designers. Inspired by Sicily's agrarian past, Arezzi built the armchair "with the handles of tools that are no longer used"; a decade later, the design is being produced for the first time in collaboration with French creative studio It’s Great Design. Take a look.
Margherita Ratti of It’s Great Design says the Manico is an ode to “the simplicity of rural life."
The chair is finished with a cotton-linen backing and cushions that come in four colors.
The Manico is available in Europe from the gallery for €2,000.
In the States, the Manico Chair is sold by Pamono by Chairish for $2,251.
