Kitchen Tour:  A Food Blogger's Serene Green Kitchen in Hong Kong

Google “angry food blog” and you’ll find Lady and Pups, founded by Mandy Lee, a self-described “Taiwan-born, Vancouver-raised, and slow-aged in New York” blogger who decamped for Hong Kong with her husband and dogs in 2016. Join us for a look at her newly remodeled, Victorian-inspired kitchen, which she shared with us with her characteristic candor.

Into the kitchen.

"I picked this palette and aesthetic because I’m just not an all-white-kitchen kinda personality,” Mandy says.

Copper pans hang within easy reach.

“I’m a sucker for all things vintage, aged, things that seem to remember stories even though they cannot speak,” says Mandy.

“Mandy worked with a paint company to fine-tune the color: "I like the color, that Victorian green, moody and uncommon, and how it plays well with the bits of gold and copper," she says.

"“The gas cooktop is by Bertazzoni, the oven by ILVE," says Mandy.

Mandy DIY-ed the countertops: "I basically custom-stained and treated the surface of plywood myself to give it an aged look and called it a day."
