Take a look at the 1926 Mediterranean-style home of Sherry McKuin of McKuin Design, redone by Frances Merrill of Reath Design in rich hues:

The house sits on a corner lot and has its original paneled front door and side peep-hole window.

The powder room is patterned with Florencecourt, a wallpaper from the archives of Cole & Son of England.

The living room doubles as the music room, with a piano at one end and drums at the other.

A favorite color moment, with an antique table for playing chess and backgammon.

Avocado comeback: the range is a 48-inch Bluestar.

The sink, with a stepped-down portion for holding mail.

The kitchen, with storage artfully incorporated along the back wall.

Two favorite details: the curved backsplash of Namibia White marble and a pleated plum bar skirt.

In the bedroom, a custom headboard in deep burgundy linen.

A charming patterned corner.
