Located in Borås in southwestern Sweden, Boråstapeter, founded in 1905, follows environmental best practices, and its wide-ranging patterns from past and present all seem to telegraph summer in Scandinavia.  The line is newly being distributed across North America exclusively by F. Schumacher. Here’s a look at eight favorite Boråstapeter botanical patterns.

Nyborg was inspired by an antique stencil pattern and comes in three colorways on a pale cream background.

Midsummer Eve, also available in a charcoal background, evokes the Swedish tradition of placing flowers under your pillow to dream of your future love.

Swedish ceramic and textile designer Stig Lindberg designed the fanciful Herbarium pattern, shown here with a spruce background.

Jane Mural is named after Jane Morris, wife of William Morris and leading member of the Arts and Crafts Movement.

Ingrid Marie in navy depicts an apple orchard at midnight.

Grazia is one of Borastapeter’s subtler patterns; look closely and amid the flowers and leaves, you’ll spot smiling and teary faces.

The aforementioned Midsummer Eve is perfect for a snug bedroom.

Nocturne, a rustling meadow pattern, comes in four colorways; this one is Sage.

Boråstapeter created Wild Jungle in collaboration with Swedish children’s clothing and accessories brand Newbie.

Nyborg, here in blue and red, works as well in a bedroom as it does in a kitchen.
