Simple Elegance: Sliding Door Hardware from Krown Lab

October 1, 2012

Hardware as sculpture, from Krown Lab in Portland, Oregon (“If Apple made door hardware, Krown Lab would be it,” according to photographer Lincoln Barbour).

The premise is simple: Krown makes three versions of modern sliding barn door hardware: the Baldur, the Oden, and the Rob Roy. “The simpler the design, the more clever the solution has to be,” they say. “We believe in exposing the functional components rather than hiding them. To us, the materials have an inherent beauty worth celebrating.”
