It used to be that the garden shed was a place to store gardening tools and lawn mowers. As our desire for space has grown, the humble shed has morphed into home office, art studio, or children’s play space. We particularly like designer Twig Hutchinson’s South London summerhouse, used as a guest bedroom, featuring a white-washed interior, minimal furnishings, and a parquet flooring with underfloor heating (a safe way to survive a British winter in the garden).
