From the Founders of Calico Wallpaper: Summery Cope Textiles as Linen Curtains

April 23, 2018

Five years ago, Nick and Rachel Cope founded Calico Wallpaper, combining his expertise in interior design with her curiosity as an artist. They spent years studying paint marbling techniques before launching their own line of abstract, nature-inspired patterns on linen and cotton, and have since partnered with of-the-moment designers including Serbian Ana Kraš and Brit Faye Toogood to expand the range. Earlier this year, they launched Cope, a collection of textiles for home in ombré shades, flower patterns, and marble motifs—and, for kids—Peter Rabbit–themed pillows and wallpaper. We’re taken with the fabric yardage, appealing as breezy linen curtains.

All Cope designs are printed in the US on 100 percent European linen.

All patterns are available on sheer linen or a darker oyster linen, and some are available on a mid-weight natural linen. Each fabric is a standard 54 inches wide and is $165 per yard.

Textile Samples are available in all four patterns and in every color, for $10 each. The patterns shown are also available as Pillows, starting at $245 each for a 24-by-14-inch pillow with down insert.

Cope fabrics are made to order, with a standard lead time of about two weeks.

For commercial use, the fabrics can be treated with a nontoxic solution so the fabric is resistant to both oil and water.
