Patrick Rylands Bath Toy
Fish' Bath Toy by Patrick Rylands
The fish and bird toys are from a group of toys by Patrick Rylands, which won the Duke of Edinburgh's Design Award in 1970 and have recently been re-issued; back by popular demand.
Made from injection moulded A.B.S. (plastic). It has an internal ballast weight to ensure that the toy keeps its balance in the water.
Rylands trained as a ceramicist at the Royal College of Art, and his love of sculptural forms combined with his interest in plastics technology led him to design smooth rounded plastic toys which were very easy for small children to handle.
Give as a gift or display as a beautifully designed object.
