Mut Kilim Rug
40 years old kilim rug from the Mut region of the Taurus Mountains woven by the Taurus Yoruks who are migratory people of Central Asian origin. The weavings of these Yoruks are strong in design and substance, as befits the lifestyle of their makers. Tight slitweave is used, so that the designs do not contain any long vertical slits; this, together with the thick warps and wefts, results in a substantial and hardwearing textile. Two large hexagonal-shaped medallions fill the ground of this lovely kilim.
