When Frédéric Sofia designed his modern update of the classic seating in Paris’ Luxembourg Garden, his aim was to “invite one to idle away the minutes and the hours in one’s own secret garden.” Equally suited to a secret garden in the center of Paris or your own backyard, this timeless collection was based on those iconic chairs and benches that have populated the historic public garden since the 1920s. Mindful of the world we live in today, the Luxembourg Collection (2005) is made in a zero-waste facility and the rust-proof components are made from lightweight 100% recyclable aluminum. The polyester powder paint, available in the same color green used now in the gardens, contains no solvents. The seat slats are molded with a waterfall edge to ensure hours of comfortable idling. Great for small spaces, stack the Side Chairs when you’re ready to return to the real world.
