The Bowles lights are lovely to look at, but not so lovely to adjust. Mechanically, the fixtures are a disaster; electrical components overheat and crack even with bulbs below recommended rating, and the parts which grasp the ceramic are perpetually loose and ill-fitted. I own several Original BTC product, all are splendid in form but suffer from poor industrial design.
