Description from Beggars Velvet

Every Beggars’ Velvet tea towel is unique made from a generous piece of vintage French Linen.

Each is hand printed with five definitions from Ambrose Bierce’s 1911 book ‘The Devil’s Dictionary’.

Our print runs are limited edition so we individually label the tea towels with a handwritten batch number.

An occasional tea cloth may delight the buyer by having a small embroidered initial or hand stitched seam through it, but as we despatch in order of making, all that is guaranteed is that each is beautiful and that they dry up with perfection.

When we find a piece of linen that has been embroidered with large initials they are printed and sold as ‘one offs’.
