From Julie
"Don't make something unless its both necessary and useful; but if it is both necessary and useful, don't hesitate to make it beautiful." This is the design ethos of Design House Stockholm, but it also describes the philosophy of Zinc Details owners Vasilios and Wendy Kiniris, whose San Francisco store was one of my first finds when I moved to the city. With their commitment to enduring, classic design, the architect couple (they met at the College of Environmental Design at Berkeley) were among the first in the city to emphasize European and Scandinavian pieces mixed with Japanese. More recently, they have partnered with Design House Stockholm, opening a "shop in a shop" with the full line on offer.
