Determined to find some fabulous, out-of-the-ordinary design objects, I made the trek to the edge of Greenpoint in Brooklyn to the new shop West & Green. The sleekly renovated space does not disappoint: it’s filled with unusual, carefully selected mid-century furniture, lighting, and objects. Co-owners John Krenek and Martin Nederpelt design furniture and offer interior design services as well.

Above: Krenek has a passion for West German pottery from the 50s and displays them in monochromatic clusters throughout the store; $75 and up.

Above: Artist Steven Farrington creates these sculptures from old bottles, capped with lead, copper, and faceted glass; available exclusively at West & Green, prices start at $350.

Above: Urban Forest Chandelier designed by Gwen Carlson; available in red or black enamel, and custom finishes; $3,915.

Above: Vintage rope chair, available as a pair.
