Shopper’s Diary: Big Daddy’s Opens in San Francisco

September 29, 2010

Bay Area collectors take note: LA-based Big Daddy's, long a secret source for Los Angeles set designers, who regularly plunder its cache of industrial and natural curiosities, recently opened a warehouse in SF's Potrero Hill neighborhood. Owner Shane Brown (nicknamed "Big Daddy" as a child) refurbished a former shipbuilding factory to house his latest venture, where he showcases his ever-changing collection of large-scale architectural salvage paired with casegoods and upholstery. I wandered in last week and promptly felt the urge to buy an industrial light. Big Daddy's is located at 1550 17th Street (enter on Wisconsin).
