I'd love to have my Joep van Lieshout shaker chairs painted gray. Do you know of any resources in the SF Bay Area for high-quality furniture painting? Thanks.
This is a great website, i'm interior design starved now without magazines. I have a particular design problem to discuss. I have a 22 yr old daughter who just graduated college, who may have to temporarily live with us in a one bedroom apartment in New York. We couldn't afford a two bedroom, we're older parents and semi retired. i had a great modular room built, 10 by 10 in the very large living room, 26 by 15. The building management said it was not built to code, not true, but anyway. they insisted we take it down. The wall they allow, completely cuts the room in two and blocks out any sunlight in the front room which they call the living room.(that's why I had a modular room built which allowed the windows and window lights to be seen from the front of the apt.) I had to have the wall built, i couldn't stand the idea of not having a designated area for my daughter if she does have to stay with us in this economy. Now i have two small rooms and no real bedroom for her and the front room without any light is a disaster. ( I made it a dining room) WHAT should I do? I'd love some hints, i'd be glad to send some pics. My husband is an artist and wants to make it an art studio. Not sure. Thanks for listening. Sincerely Susie Fasbinder
