By Land or by Sea: Summery Bedroom Decor from the Netherlands

BY Julie Carlson

Guest bedroom decor simplified: Aquarelle-printed summer sheets (and matching art) evocative of the sea and the land, from Crisp Sheets, a new Amsterdam bedding company. “We started with a question,” the owners say: “Why should we pay so much attention to our interiors and give the bedroom short shrift? We spend a quarter of our lives in bed, so we wanted to create a safe haven, a little comfort zone.”

The sheets are woven with a special technique that insures that they stay crisp, “as if you just made your bed,” according to the company.

The Sea

Above: The 100 percent cotton Weekend Lover line is “inspired by the five oceans and their beautiful array of blues.” Prices range from €109 to €119 ($120 to $131). Only one side is printed, so you can flip to an all-white scheme if desired.

Above: The Ocean Poster is printed on uncoated Munken Lynx paper, measures 11.7 by 16.7 inches, and is €19.95 ($22.04).

The Land

Above: The World Is Yours bedding (the name is inspired by a line from the movie Scarface) has a hand-painted watercolor design that’s digitally edited; pricing ranges from €109 to €119 ($120 to $131).
