Last week we posted a kitchen on wheels by French architects Karine Chartier and Thomas Corbasson, which got us thinking about portable storage for the most used room in the house. Improbably, Chef’s Catalog has one of the best pieces we’ve seen, made of solid oak and recycled steel. Streamlined proportions, too.
Below: SoMa Island with adjustable middle shelf and locking casters; 54 inches long and 41 inches high; $999. SoMa Stool adjusts from 22 to 33 inches high; $299.
