From Julie
To be filed under: fantasy kitchen acquisitions. UK architect John Pawson's rigorously streamlined pots and pans for Belgian company Demeyere (even the mission statement is minimalist: "The Man, The Work, The Pan"). According to Pawson, "A pan might seem like a very straightforward object to design, but the reality is that smallness of scale does not equate with lack of complexity. The union of form and function must be seamless. My goal has been something which looked different, but right, equally at home over a flame or on a table— modern but not modish." The collection is available from Cookware.com; prices range from $115 for an 11-Inch Lid to $1,094.95 for a Six-Piece Cookware Set.
