Furniture: Piana Folding Chair at DWR

Issue 36 · Best in Kitchen · September 7, 2011

New (and eminently practical) at Design Within Reach: the well-priced Piana Folding Chair, designed by British architect David Chipperfield for Alessi. Made of fiberglass-reinforced polypropylene with a matte finish, the chair can be used indoors or outdoors and is available in several cheery colors as well as black and white. The three parts rotate around a single axis, with no visible hardware, and each chair folds completely flat for stacking horizontally or hanging on the Piana Wall Hook, which holds up to four chairs.
