Bohemian Mastermix: Foxfire Mountain House in the Catskills

Located on 10 acres (complete with pond, lily pool, bonfire pits, and an outdoor pavilion) in Mount Tremper, New York, in the Catskills, the Foxfire Mountain House has gotten a lot of attention since opening in 2015 (it was named to Monocle’s Travel Top 50 list in the December 2015/January 2016 issue.)

The hundred-year-old inn is owned by Eliza Clark, a former lifestyle TV producer/director, and her husband, Tim Trojian, an executive chef; together the two did much of the work and all the design. “Our goal in opening the inn was to be together more as the hours in both television and restaurants are so long, and I was often on the road traveling with a production,” Clark says. “We wanted to find a way to combine our skills with food and design and be together more.”
