One of our favorite tables is currently on sale (it’s down from $1,200 to $499; if our math is right, you save $701) at Design Within Reach. Designed by Stockholm-based TAF Architects for Muuto, the table is a future classic; at this price, I’m thinking of taking the leap.
Made with a powder-coated steel frame, solid oak legs, and an oak veneer or painted finish, the table is available in solid colors or in a mix of two or three (think black-white, gray-green, or white-gray-black). According to Gabriella Gustafson and Mattias Stí¥hlbom of TAF Architects), “Mixing materials is one of the cornerstones of Nordic design, and this table takes that tradition one step further by allowing you to mix materials as you wish.”
