Architect Visit: Richard Neutra in Laurel Canyon
Issue 45 · LA Finds · November 7, 2008
Designed in 1934 by Richard Neutra for a Russian-born actress and her husband, the Sten-Frenke house was the setting for the film Laurel Canyon. It recently underwent a four-year overhaul by midcentury restoration specialists Marmol Radziner in close collaboration with James Biber of Pentagram. Go to Pentagram to see a spectacular slideshow of the house, with photographs by Julius Shulman.
