A Balancing Act of Glass and Metal

February 10, 2012

The Lampe Plaffonier is more like a sculpture than a lamp: a "living tension between balance and movement, momentum and meditation."

Spotted at La Galerie Vegetale (a Remodelista favorite; see Shopper's Diary: La Galerie Vegetale in Paris), the fixture is literally a balancing act: three frosted glass lights are counterweighted by two solid steel spheres, keeping a black hammered-steel branch level.
