Yesterday, Materialicious posted on German designer Katrin Arens’ furniture pieces made from reclaimed wood; we also like her simple glass candleholders, made from wine bottles cut on an angle.

San Francisco architect Craig Steely suspended an oil-burning Stelton ship’s lamp over the dining table in his Hawaii house (featured in Dwell), sidestepping the need for electrical wiring.

Bay Area designer and recent Berkeley graduate (with a BA in architecture) Joseph Sandy sent us photos of his 8-by-10-foot outdoor studio/shed in Petaluma, California, just north of San Francisco. Made from reclaimed redwood fencing, the shed has a polycarbonate clerestory window that provides ample interior illumination; the pegboard-lined interior offers multiple storage opportunities. See more of his work at Joseph Sandy Studio.
