I've given up finding something great but definitely would like to avoid the white plastic look. this is the best I've found so far. http://www.homeclick.com/web/catalog/product_detail.aspx?pid=206770&cm_ven=Froogle&cm_cat=Hardware&cm_pla=Nutone&cm_ite=Nutone-Door%20Accessories-206770&cid=17988BA62606F0B1E95BDFE6EDFE9AAA I’m having this same problem. I'd like to suggest one more that I found very satisfying. It's a GE Monogram 36" gas cooktop. Not only does it look good, it's got a red LED light below the knob that lights up when it's on. As with all stainless steel, it looks great coming out of the box, but after a few uses, it really starts to wear in. Just make sure you keep it cleans and never use any abrasive sponges to get the tough spots (oops!) Great selection! I’d like to suggest one more that I found very satisfying. (Most units listed are also available in lower-priced 30-inch, four-burner configurations; black or white finishes also reduce costs.) When researching the models, consider your cooking needs (how many BTUs do you really need?). Another factor to consider is whether you can easily detect burners with different heat rating—for instance, if you want to boil water on one burner and saute on another burner, is it clear which burner to use for each need. Finally, if you prefer freestanding ranges, take a look at 10 Easy Pieces, European-Style Ranges. [...] […] We favor stainless-steel, 36-inch cooktops with five or more sealed burners.
