From Julie:
We think we have found our soulmate: a blogger who goes by the moniker clean+istry. Visit her blog detailing her adventures in cleaning:
cleanistry.typepad.com. We have reproduced her first entry here:VIPP Toilet Brush:
If Clean+istry were to be reincarnated as a toilet brush, we would most certainly choose to return as a VIPP. The VIPP line of waste bins and toilet brushes are spare and solid and modern and timeless.
We first spotted a row of them in Conran’s and fell hard for their pleasing industrial lines. We desired them in bulk quantities. At $200 a pop they aren’t cheap, but the parts are replaceable.
Is toilet brush affection unusual? Maybe.
Is it wrong? No.

Here are some sites we’ve been visiting this past week:
MATERIALICIOUS If we had our way, we’d set up operations in a freestanding home office. For now, we can only dream. We love the Neoshed, spotted on Materialicious, one of our all-time favorite blogs:

APARTMENT THERAPY How did we miss these orange metal storage bins from Target when we were compiling last week’s office post? Spotted them today on apartmenttherapy.com; $29.99 for two at target.com:

NOTMARTHA Three of us live in the Bay Area, which means we should be prepared for Biblical-strength wildfires, earthquakes, floods. Noticed the hand-cranked, multifunctional Eton FR300 Emergency Radio at notmartha.org (the Wall Street Journal called it the best emergency radio). We’ll take three, please.

HOPING FOR HAPPY ACCIDENTS While we’re on the subject of disasters, we’ve been meaning to source an old-style cord phone like this one (which will work in a power outage) we spotted in Elisabet’s house on hopingforhappyaccidents.

ECOFABULOUS Over at Zem Joaquin’s stylish eco blog, we noticed Eco-Makeover for Your Workspace, a roundup of tips for reducing your energy usage. One strategy we like: Switch Your Cordless Phone for a Corded One that doesn’t continuously charge. This Bang & Olufsen BeoCom 1401 is available in gray, black, or blue for $135 at bangolufsen.com:

DESIGN*SPONGE To celebrate the material’s 40th anniversary, designer Niels Kjeldsen created this perpetual calendar using Corian tiles. Go to niels-kjeldsen.dk for information:

INHABITAT has an entry on eco-friendly school supplies, including these looseleaf notebooks from Re-Binder at greenlinepaper.com:

MIRROR MIRROR We love this trio of Ikea Alex drawer units on casters; $119 at ikea.com:

APARTMENT THERAPY STORE We just noticed these Teema porcelain mugs, designed by Kaj Franck, perfect for afternoon tea at the desk. White or olive; $16 each at apartmenttherapy.com:

UNCLUTTERER We also recently discovered this great blog devoted to the subject of home and office organization. It offers great ideas for keeping track of computer manuals, warranties, etc. pertaining to individual computers (for the multi-station home) in extra-large magazine files from containerstore:
