The studio of S. Russell Groves was launched with the innovative design of the Tea Box at Takashimaya, winner of the prominent American Institute of Architects Award. This immediately established the firm as a leading design practice and has led to important commissions for such high profile clientele as Coach, Giorgio Armani and Polo Ralph Lauren. Repeated success and continued recognition has provided the studio with an impressive array of retail, residential and commercial commissions.
Current assignments include several stores for the iconic American brand Tiffani & Co, the centerpiece of which is a new flagship store in Shanghai, China; and a luxury residential enclave at 1212 Fifth Avenue overlooking Central Park. Currently under construction, the Fire Island house for the New York based fashion designer, Derek Lam, combines a relaxed setting with exceptional ocean views. We also recently completed a new residential complex, the Lucida, the first luxury LEED certified building on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. From top to bottom, every appointment has been exquisitely detailed for this modern, eco-conscious, lifestyle dwelling.
S. Russell Groves has achieved numerous honors and awards, has been listed as one of the top design practices by Interior Design, New York and New York Spaces, and has been named in the “Top International Firms” by Architectural Digest.
