Lighting: Benjamin Hubert’s Heavy Lights

November 10th, 2008

From Julie:

London-based designer Benjamin Hubert created Heavy Lights—a line of 5mm-thin walled concrete pendant lamps—to “challenge our perceptions of materials and to counteract the current throwaway society. It is hoped that the user will learn to value concrete as a luxury commodity in line with green issues.” Manufactured by a German casting company for Decode London, Heavy Lights are available in light gray, dark gray, or off-white concrete with a red braided cable cord; £250 for the short, £230 for the tall at Foundry Light + Design.
