From Julie:
We recently discovered Leonards Antiques, based in Seekonk, MA, and with another store in Westport, CT, a family-owned workshop that specializes in antiques and reproduction furniture. Their specialty is resizing antique beds to accommodate contemporary-sized mattresses (including king size).
Below: The Jenny Lind Spool twin bed below has been refinished in charcoal black paint; $2,100.

Below: Antique Sheraton Field Bed in maple, resized to queen; $4,800.

From Julie:
This 1,000-square-foot Victorian Carpenter Gothic cottage on Martha’s Vineyard was given an overhaul recently by Hutker Architects. We especially like the seafoam green porch with the red rockers, and the ad hoc collection of painted furniture.
