Architect Visit: Jerome Buttrick Kitchen

From Julie:

Emeryville, CA-based architect Jerome Buttrick designed this kitchen in Lyme, CT, almost a decade ago and it still looks of the moment. Countertops are mahogany with McCloskey bartop varnish; the substantial mahogany windows are custom made by Woodstone Architectural Windows & Doors in Vermont (woodstone.com), and floors are wide plank oak. The refrigerator is cleverly concealed behind the sliding pocket door leading to the pantry, and most storage is undercounter. View more of Jerome’s work at buttrickwong.com:

Fabrics and Linens: John Robshaw Online Shop

From Janet:

We have long admired John Robshaw’s eastern-inspired handcrafted fabrics. Good news: he recently revamped his website, allowing for direct online ordering. Robshaw frequently travels to India for inspiration and sources his fabrics from suppliers that use traditional printing, dying, and weaving techniques. View the range at johnrobshaw.com.

Design Voyeur: Florence Broadhurst

From Julie:

Strange how previously outdated-looking design flourishes like sixties-era Op art can suddenly seem of the moment again. A while back we ran this photo from UK magazine Living Etc. of a room we admired: Came across a range of limited-edition prints by Australian patternist Florence Broadhurst that could add a similar graphic flourish to traditional surroundings. Go to signatureprints.com to view the offerings:
