Local Luminary: Meteor Lights

From Janet:

“Lampshades are the shoes and handbags of the design world.” - Nina Campbell

A few days ago, we stumbled upon Meteor Lights’ lampshade workshop on 17th Street in the Mission District of San Francisco. Meteor’s retro drum and two-tiered lampshades are handmade with the same fiberglass and resin parchment used on lampshades in the forties and fifties. Each shade is hand-stained, so the color options are infinite. Visit meteorlights.com for more information and to view the custom shade selector.

We especially liked the two-tiered white shade used as a pendant light (see below) and the sconce shields.
