10 Easy Pieces: Toilet Roll Holders
March 20th, 2007
From Sarah:
Some of these toilet roll holders are expensive, but think how often they will be used over the course of a lifetime. Here are ten we love:
Below: From UK company Samuel Heath, the N93/B polished chrome toilet roll holder with wooden spool; $97.17 at Faucet Supply.
.
Below: From Boffi, Giulio Gianturco’s Miminal toilet roll holder; $133. Go to Boffi to see the line, and for ordering / dealer information.

Below: Samuel Heath Curzon Paper Holder in chrome plate and light wood. $137.22 at Home Annex.

Below: The extremely well-priced Fjarden holder in porcelain and stainless is from Ikea; $9.99 at Ikea.

Below: The Danish-made Vipp Toilet Roll Holder is $217.58 at Scandinavian Design Center.

Below: Another Samuel Heath find, $84.90 at Home Decor Hardware.

Below: From deluxe fittings company Urban Archaeology in NYC, two reproductions from a grander time: the Metropolitan toilet paper holder ($305), and the Yale Club toilet paper holder ($280); both at Urban Archaeology.
Below: Retro ceramic paper holder from UK company Manufactum for 15.40 Euros (approximately $20), at Manufactum.
Below: Another beauty from Samuel Heath’s Novis line; available for $60.90 at Home Decor Hardware.

Below: The modern classic Arne Jacobsen-designed Vola toilet paper holder; $120 from Sophisticated Hardware.

Below: Handsome Edwardian metal lavatory roll holder from Czech & Speake; starting at £205 at Czech & Speake. The Lefroy Brooks Connaught Paper Holder, which is virtually identical, is $329.25 at Home & Stone. Aston Matthews also has a version for £57.58.

Is this item available in the US? Particularly NYC?

We list US sources whenever possible. For overseas products we try and list items that can be easily bought online.
